Welcome to the Y&Y Blog!

Have you heard of social business and wondered what it’s all about? Are you a social entrepreneur facing challenges in your business? Or are you a corporate professional who wants to encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, Yunus & Youth exists to support you. Combining social entrepreneurship training with technology, we remove educational barriers across countries and generations. Our purpose is to support the young people that are leading the change in their countries through social enterprises!

Since 2014, Y&Y has trained young people from over 50 countries, building a mission-driven community with amplified resources that drive social change.

Our work is inspired by Professor Muhammad Yunus, 2006 Nobel Peace Price Laureate, who is internationally recognized for his work in poverty alleviation and the empowerment of the poor. In his words, developing a social business starts with “the idealism and hope that are deeply ingrained in all human beings”.

A social business, by his definition, is a “non-loss, non-dividend company created to address a social purpose”. For us, therefore, linking market structures with the intention to create change is one of the key ways to build a more sustainable future.

On the Y&Y Blog, you will find stories of young people who are doing just that. And trust me, you will be impressed. The challenges they’ve overcome to build and implement their businesses are awe-inspiring. They are moved by passion and they have so much to share with us!

Here you will hear from the mentors who have supported these young leaders through our program. They will share their motivations and learnings from their time as mentors, which I’m sure will also inspire you to invest in the next generation of innovators.

Lastly, here you will also find relevant content on social businesses and social impact work. As per our mission to support all young entrepreneurs out there, we will provide resources to help you advance your idea.

To get started, check out the new Y&Y Social Business Toolkit, and stay tuned for our next posts!
