For Suerethia Henderson, financial expertise wasn’t just a degree on her wall; it was a lifeline for communities that lacked access to fundamental financial knowledge. While working to attain a bachelor and master’s degree in finance, she realized that key financial concepts can be nonexistent and often out of reach for many people particularly in underserved communities.
Launched in 2024, Wealth Network 360 is a business that educates and equips young adults with the financial knowledge vital to create generational wealth. Additionally, while most financial education businesses focus solely on personal finance, the curriculum at Wealth Network 360 goes further by incorporating real estate and entrepreneurial finance subject areas.
“I strongly believe that the young people who participate in our workshops and courses will benefit from the financial knowledge they gain, and this impact extends beyond just themselves…When these students enter different stages of life and engage in conversations with friends and loved ones, they can share what they’ve learned. All this together is why I believe the vision at Wealth Network 360 truly goes beyond the classroom.” Henderson explained
The impact of Wealth Network 360 is already felt across multiple states, including Ohio, Illinois, and Georgia, where the organization has partnered with nonprofits, educational institutions, and learning centers to deliver financial literacy programs. The business also presents a $1,000 scholarship designed to help individuals who desire to pursue a higher education.
“I aspire to recognize and reward academic excellence while opening doors to a range of opportunities and experiences. I celebrate high-school students’ academic excellence but also acknowledge their commitment to making a positive impact in the community and beyond.” Henderson said. “With keeping that in mind, when I developed this scholarship program, I focused on how I can be a blessing to someone they same way God has been a blessing to me.”
Wealth Network 360 incorporates various learning styles, such as tactile, visual, and auditory learning for understanding of financial concepts, crafting an informative and interactive learning experience for the youth.
“When you see the gradual progression of young adults learning financial concepts, I can’t even put it into words. It’s just so great…it’s very encouraging to hear.” Henderson expressed.
Henderson credited the support she received from the Yunus and Youth fellowship program, mentors, and her upbringing for shaping her approach to business and success. She highlighted the invaluable insights from the program, her community, and her parents in sustaining her determination.
“Over the last few months, we’ve had phenomenal speakers who gave great presentations on topics such as the value of impact metrics, value propositions, and understanding social business models…They shared their insights, backgrounds, and expertise which helped us a lot,” Henderson said.
Reflecting on what kept her motivated during this journey, she added, “I would really say between my parents and the community. My parents have always encouraged me to excel in my potential. They’ve helped keep me inspired.”
Looking ahead, Henderson remains committed to her mission. She envisions expanding Wealth Network 360 further, continuing to equip young adults with the financial tools they need to navigate the modern financial landscape. As her program grows, Henderson’s focus remains clear: to ensure that financial literacy becomes a tool for empowerment, particularly for those who need it most.
