About the Y&Y Fellow: Teddy Noeline Akongo is a dedicated social entrepreneur, artist, and community advocate committed to empowering at-risk youth in Kampala. A graduate of Makerere University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, she combines her passion for music and public relations expertise to drive transformative social change. Teddy’s entrepreneurial journey is rooted in her personal experiences with adversity and her belief in the transformative power of the arts. As the co-founder of the Wawero Foundation, she leverages music, dance, and tailoring as tools for social empowerment, offering vulnerable youth opportunities for skill development and economic stability. In addition to her work at Wawero, she serves as the WASH Program Coordinator for GiveLove.org, leading public health and sanitation initiatives in underserved communities. Her multifaceted career reflects a deep commitment to creating opportunities for growth and resilience among marginalized populations.
