About the Social Business: TransEnd Crafts is a social business in Bangladesh that aims to bridge the gap between marginalized transgender or gender fluid artisans and the mainstream retail sector. As the first e-commerce platform of its kind in the country, TransEnd Crafts provides gender-diverse communities with access to handicrafts training, logistics and marketing support, and employment opportunities. The social enterprise focuses on empowering Bangladesh’s transgender and hijra communities—two million individuals who face severe discrimination, poverty, and social exclusion. TransEnd Crafts’ mission is to create sustainable economic opportunities and financial independence for these artisans, integrating them into the socioeconomic fabric while celebrating Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage. By offering a platform for these individuals to showcase their talents, TransEnd Crafts hopes to provide more than just financial security—it aims to empower and promote social inclusion for the transgender community.
