About the Social Business: Bhorosha (empowering women through livelihoods) is developing a transparent and automated platform to connect women employees (from informal economy) with potential employers in 2 steps, they are Step 1: Connecting them with appropriate jobs by matching their skill set Step 2: Provide skills gap training to enhance their existing skills for better job opportunities. They are developing a prototype for pilot launch at Korail Slum (largest informal settlement in Bangladesh) within the next few months. This will be done by setting up micro-agents to obtain and input information of the potential employees on their website by building up on the data.
About the Y&Y Fellow: Tahreem Shah is a fresh graduate Architect and a Yunus & Youth Fellow. She was recently selected by the Bard College in the US to attend the OSUN Summer Credit Course on ‘Women and Covid-19:Activism, Leadership, and Global Engagement'.Following an architectural internship in Norway, she started to get involved in local & global initiatives that focus on urban disaster preparedness–in particular those the focus on architectural design and financial inclusion of low income communities. Tahreem is the co-founder of the social business initiative 'Bhorosha' and has dedicated her work to contribute to socially responsive architecture and find solutions for informal settlements.
