About the Y&Y Fellow: Sashka is a documentary filmmaker and social entrepreneur. She studied philosophy at the University of McGill, and has worked as a videographer and video editor for the last 6 years. Most prominently her experience lies in educational videos, music videos, and short promotional reels. Currently her focus lies in further developing my skills in the sphere of documentary filmmaking and using all forms of creative art for social change. She is most motivated by the magical power that the arts have to generate a positive social impact and allow young people to find themselves through access to creative education. In January of 2019 she co-founded Creopia Productions along with her partner Lusine. They are a visual arts production company with a mission for social impact and decentralization of creative attention for large hubs. Their goal is to create a thriving creative atmosphere in our town such that we reverse creative brain drain and allow young people from here to feel excited about what their city has to offer.
