About the Y&Y Fellow: He is well resourced with knowledge on water pumps of all types and has worked in several water projects mostly in Uganda. Samuel has a community touch and has presented technical papers on various platforms. Samuel has experience in research and development of low cost desludging pumps and transportation devices, toilet substructures and super structures for different areas depending on soil formations (high water table areas, collapsible soils, rocky areas and water logged areas). Samuel has got sound knowledge in project planning and management, and construction skills in Water supply, sanitation, roads, and agricultural infrastructure. Samuel has earned several awards both nationally and internationally i.e. First runner up of Civil Society WASH Innovations award 2016 in Brisbane, Australia, Winner of StartUpper of the Year 2015/16 by Total Uganda, Winner of Tony O. Elumelu Prize in Business in Lagos, Nigeria 2015, and 12 short listed for Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation 2014. He is among the 30 young enterprising entrepreneurs according to Forbes.
