It is based on a re-utilization business model. Since 2013, Recidar collected 150,000 kilograms of objects that have been utilized by 30,000 people in vulnerable communities. It has also recycled 200,000 kilograms of plastics, paper, metals, glass and others, creating job opportunities for 30 people. This has been made possible thanks so the social and environmental responsibility of 30,000 families and 60 companies.
About the Y&Y Fellow: Diego Padilla is from Peru. He is a founder of Recidar and currently works as a Technical Coordinator at The Peruvian Centre for Resilience of Urban Ecosystems ("Centro Urbes"). Diego has graduated in Ecosystem Services and has practical experience in the public sector (Ministry of Environment), internacional cooperation (GIZ, JICA) and the United Nations System (UNDP and Unicef).
