The name Putali (Nepali for butterfly) not only expresses the potential for transformation in each and every one of them but also refers to the Butter fly Effect: A Tiny Seed of Change Can Bring about Great Transformation. This is the vision driving their work in Nepal. Our mission is to “Create Child Friendly Education Tools to Promote Social and Behavioral Transformation” as we believe that through education we can sow the seed of changes at a young age. Currently, we are active in the field of MHM where they use Menstrupedia Comic and enquiry based learning tools to educate children and their guardians about menstruation and also facilitate the children to be the changemakers in the society. They sustain themselves through the sales of the comic, menstrual cup and by providing different workshops/training on menstruation.
About the Y&Y Fellow: Aishwarya Rani Singh is a recent graduate of Development Studies, a social entrepreneur by profession and an aspiring educational development expert. She envisioned creating and promoting child friendly educational tools for social and behavioral changes. Highly passionate and enthusiastic in working in sectors related to education, research, training, project management, entrepreneurship, leadership and mentorship. With over a decade of work experience in the development sector she is also specialized in coaching, mentoring, training &
development, idea generation, analytical problem solving, strategy development, program designing, management & implementation, operations management and organizational leadership. Currently she is working as the Managing Director of Putali Nepal.
