About the Social Business: MAD is a social business focused on connecting high need community-focused nonprofit organizations with those who want to help. Established in 2013, they started off as a small nonprofit and have since then grown into an award-winning social business that has impacted over 10,000 lives. They partner with local nonprofits around the world to design very specific poverty alleviation projects that detail the project cost, required resources, timelines and social impact. To implement and finance these projects, MAD recruit passionate individuals who want to volunteer abroad and empower them through their online crowd fundraising platform to raise funds and donate towards their project. By integrating their impact focused volunteer programs with their assisted crowdfunding platform they provide anyone who wants to make a difference with the opportunities and the tools to do so.” Talenpac was founded as MAD in 2014 and started as a fundraising initiative to finance water and sanitation projects in developing countries. It worked with nonprofit organisations across Sri Lanka, Kenya and Cambodia to provide rural communities with access to clean water and toilets. Between 2014 to 2018, it raised more than USD 100,000 and impacted over 11,000 people.
About the Y&Y Fellow: Charu Agarwal is currently based in Greece. She is the founder of Talenpac, where she currently works as a Program Lead. She is a qualified lawyer with experience in the social impact and not-for-profit sector on a wide range of issues across Malaysia, India, Cambodia and Sri Lanka. She has over 300 hours of training & facilitation experience with a proven ability to design, deliver and monitor programs with a focus on impact .
