Have the support from a successful black mentor

All program participants will be matched with a mentor from a Fortune 500 company. Mentors will provide inspiration and support – and teach you how to use business skills to build your project!

Develop skills you'll use for a lifetime

Entrepreneurial skills like creativity, critical thinking, and communication will look great on your resumé or college application! 

Join a vibrant community of young social entrepreneurs

You will engage with our global network of social innovators and mentors. Talk about connections and networking, huh?

Learn how to create a business step-by-step

Our online and on-demand learning modules and interactive live sessions will walk you through the process of building your business solution. We break the entrepreneurial process into smaller steps so you can have fun along the way!

Pitch your solution and earn a grant to kick-start your business

The Program will end with a Final Pitch Competition and participants will present their solutions to a panel of judges from our global network. The best projects will be awarded small grants.


To be considered for Forward, applicants must:

Be within the program’s age range (15 to 19 years old) at the time of application

Reside in the United States

Have stable access to the Internet.*


*If an applicant does not have stable access to the internet, they should signal that on the application form. The Y&Y Team will evaluate on a case-by-case basis whether we are able to provide financial assistance to cover data usage fees and devices.

They empower leaders of Gen Z with the training, funding, and network they need to become civic innovators that build a brighter future for humanity. Civics Unplugged builds communities of young leaders who want to realize their potential and support the flourishing of their communities and the world around them.
