About the Social Business: The Solar Oven Project was set up in 2014 to train and empower 10,000 secondary school students across rural communities in Northern Nigeria (especially refugees who currently reside in IDP camps in Northeastern Nigeria as a result of the insurgency plaguing their regions), as well as 200,000 urban and rural farmers across Nigeria on how to build and use solar energy powered devices (solar ovens, solar dryers, solar cookers) to carry out their domestic and agricultural processes.
About the Y&Y Fellow: Eugene is a world changer... He was born for a time such as these. Her objective is to leave the world a better place than she met it, particularly by reducing air pollution and discarding materials that cause climate change and environmental pollution. He believes that if we learn to adopt and work with Solar energy we and our environment will be the better for it.
